The HCMT Pakenham East Depot is a state of the art facility located in Pakenham, Victoria, dedicated to the maintenance, servicing, and storage of Melbourne’s High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT). As a crucial part of the HCMT project, the depot supports the operation of 65 new, high-capacity trains designed to enhance Melbourne’s rail network. With advanced maintenance capabilities and strategic positioning, the depot ensures the fleet remains in optimal condition, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of Melbourne’s metro services. The HCMT Pakenham East Depot is an essential hub for the ongoing success of the city's modern, high-capacity public transport system.
Cutting Force was engaged to deliver expert core drilling and sawing services for a large-scale infrastructure project. Our team performed precise core drilling for thousands of holes, ensuring exact accuracy for the installation of threaded rods that secure rail track mounting brackets to concrete slab structures. Due to the critical nature of this task, the exact location of each core hole was essential, as the positioning of the mounting brackets could not be altered once installed.
In addition to core drilling, Cutting Force provided a range of concrete cutting services, including wall sawing, road sawing, hand sawing, and ring sawing. These services supported various on-site requirements, such as drilling for electrical conduits, plumbing outlets, wall penetrations, column modifications, and lighting tower installations.
We were proud to work as a trusted subcontractor to Downer Electrical and Downer Transport and Infrastructure, handling all concrete core drilling and sawing across the project site. Our commitment to precision, efficiency, and safety ensured the successful execution of this complex, site-wide project.
